Empowering Youth in Hyderabad, India: Science & Life Skills Expansion

This October, Open Minds Open Doors continued our impactful journey in Hyderabad, India, expanding our educational programs to deepen the knowledge and skills of children in underserved communities. Building on our previous STEM and life skills workshops, this month’s focus was on integrating science education with practical life applications — bridging classroom learning with everyday challenges.

Programs and Activities

  • Human Body & Health Curriculum
We launched a multi-session course teaching children about basic human anatomy, nutrition, and hygiene. These lessons included interactive models and fun quizzes to engage students in understanding how their bodies work and the importance of maintaining health.

  • Basic Science & Engineering Topics
Students participated in hands-on activities like building simple circuits and experimenting with magnets and forces, helping demystify scientific concepts and spark curiosity.

  • Life Skills Workshops
Sessions on time management, effective communication, and teamwork were delivered, empowering children with tools for personal and academic success.

Local Partnerships & Volunteer Engagement

Our Hyderabad team collaborated closely with several local schools and NGOs to tailor the curriculum to the community’s needs. University student volunteers played a key role as mentors and workshop facilitators, bridging generational gaps and fostering a supportive learning environment.
